The Chenin Blanc is harvested from a single vineyard on the Biodynamic farm Reyneke, located in the Polkadraai Hills to the west of Stellenbosch. The vineyards are the oldest on the farm being in excess of 50 years old and are located on a combination of decomposed granitic loam on a clay sub-soil. Under Johan's watchful eye, every grape is nurtured on the Reyneke farms, producing wines that are not only vegan and Demeter certified biodynamic, but also truly embody the Reyneke identity. With the oldest vineyards on the Reyneke farm dating back to the mid-1970s, It is registered with South Africa's renowned Old Vine / Oud Wijnstok Project (OVP), the provenance of this wine is unmistakable. It has a lovely bouquet of fresh mandarins and kumquat followed through by floral notes and honeycomb undertones. The palate has a beautiful freshness with a tight linear structure. Layers of citrus fruit, washed stone and spice carries through to a long aromatic finish.
