While robust notes of dark fruit do characterize Negroamaro, its modern expression doesn’t quite live up to the dramatic meaning of its name, “bitter and black.” This dark-skinned southern Italian grape variety is found on the eastern half of the Salento peninsula, which is the backside of Italy’s “boot heel” and part of the Puglia region.  Negroamaro organic certified grapes are the most representative native grapes cultivated in their vineyards of Salento. Ruby in appearance, almost deep red with a nose of intense red fruits. On the palate, it's balanced, fruity. making it an ideal red for the party or picnic table...or just hanging out! Serve at a cool 60-62F. Try it with burgers and Mediterranean appetizers.
